About Proposition 65

California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 — better known as Proposition 65 — requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers about significant exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals may be in the products we sell, in their packaging, or created in their manufacture.

A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean a product violates any safety standard or requirement. The State of California has clarified that the presence of a warning “does not mean the product is unsafe.” We provide these warnings to comply with California law.

Which products?

Chemicals covered by Proposition 65 can be found in a wide range of everyday consumer products. Items such as jewelry, hardware, hats, bags, and certain dyed or coated textiles may contain trace amounts of the chemicals listed above. Where a specific warning is required, it is provided on the applicable product page or with the product.
